Primavera Sound 2016: my draft schedule

Time to honour another Blog tradition! The timeables of Primavera Sound Festival 2016 have been revealed, so let's (try) to make our schedule (first attempt). Despite general opinions, this edition is quite far from being a favourite, and the recurring, inevitable, painful overlaps, are going to make it worse (that's why here we have listed only the gigs we believe will see fully). But no complaints, let's "play" and complete the puzzle! This is what our PS 2016 looks like (initial impressions):

Wednesday, June 1st, Parc del Fòrum
17:00 Doble Pletina (Primavera)
18:00 El Último Vecino (Primavera)
19:00 Sr. Chinarro (Primavera)
20:30 Goat (Primavera)
22:00 Suede (Primavera)
Day without issues... except the bands we really want to watch are just Doble Pletina and Suede, first and last on the schedule

Thursday, June 2nd, Parc del Fòrum
18:00 Algiers (Heineken)
20:00 Daughter (Heineken)
21:30 A.R. Kane (Adidas Originals)
23:45 Protomartyr (Pitchfork)
Troubles begin: Algiers versus Lee Ranaldo. incomplete Julien Baker, Suede clashing with Daughter, clashing with Destroyer, empty until Protomartyr. Pretty disastrous day overall.

Friday, June 3rd, Parc del Fòrum
12:30 Big Summer (CCCB)
13:00 Cala Vento (CCCB)
14:00 Julien Baker (CCCB)
14:30 Cass McCombs (CCCB)
17:30 Aliment (Pitchfork)
18:30 Ben Watt Band (Ray-Ban)
19:05 Titus Andronicus (H&M)
20:00 Savages (Heineken)
21:00 Beirut (H&M)
22:15 Dinosaur Jr. (Ray-Ban)
23:35 Royal Headache (Pitchfork)
00:25 The Last Shadow Puppets (Heineken)
Could we make it? The challenge is titanic (12 bands, plus Beach House as an additional option after the Puppets) and yet I'm furious there are some tough choices to be made. No Radiohead? Savages of Robert Forster? Lush at the Hidden Stage? Move some of them to Thursday! That's criminal!

Saturday, June 4th, Parc del Fòrum
15:00 Robert Forster (CCCB)
17:00 Bob Mould (Hidden Stage)
18:40 The Chills (Ray-Ban)
20:00 Brian Wilson (Heineken)
22:35 PJ Harvey (Heineken)
00.50 Julia Holter (Ray-Ban)
And after a terrifying day full of choices, a Saturday quite so-so, with the main clash between Brian Wilson and Richard Hawley. Aside from that, pretty clear...

Sunday, June 5th, Apolo/Sala BARTS
19:30 Mudhoney (CCCB)
21:00 Black Lips (CCCB)
Huge questions marks for the closing day, very doubtful we'll make it, we'll see!

Primavera Sound 2015: my draft schedule

And the day has come. It's time to, at least make the first attempt, and try to assemble the puzzle that the Primavera Sound Festival schedules' are. And also time to start digesting and make some painful choices due to the recurring, I guess they are inevitable, overlaps. So, are you ready to "play" with us? Pending on Primavera als Parcs' schedule this is what our PS 2015 looks like (initial impressions):

Thursday, May 28th, Parc del Fòrum
18:35 Twerps (Pitchfork)
19:45 Viet Cong (Pitchfork)
21:10 The Replacements (Primavera)
22:20 Antony and the Johnsons (Heineken)*
22:50 Spiritualized (ATP)
23:45 The Black Keys (Primavera)
The "easy" day, it goes quite smoothly, with the sole exception of missing Antony and the Johnsons (although I'm very far from being a fan, I was curious), and the clash between the highly recommendable Ought versus The Replacements.

Friday, May 29th, Parc del Fòrum
17:00 The Pastels (Heineken Hidden Stage)
17:45 Núria Graham (Pitchfork)
19:00 Ex Hex (Pitchfork)
20:35 The Julie Ruin (Ray-Ban)
22:20 Sleater-Kinney (Heineken)
23:45 Ride (Primavera)
The "big day" it's a pretty excruciating one. Getting into the Pastels' gig will be tough (as you have to grab the tickets well in advance that same day). There's not a lot to choose among until Ex Hex... and then overlaps all over until. Will see The Julie Ruin so bye to The New Pornographers, Patti Smith, Tobias Jesso Jr.. and also to Damien Rice and Belle and Sebastian, 'cause the important gig of the day is, of course, Sleater-Kinney. Then Ride and over? What an incredible day could have been...

Saturday, May 30th, Parc del Fòrum
16:00 Patti Smith (Auditori Rockdelux)
17:30 Ben Watt (Auditori Rockdelux)
18:55 The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (Primavera)
20:30 Tori Amos (Ray-Ban)
21:40 DIIV (Pitchfork)
22.20 Interpol Heineken)*
23:00 Flyying Colours (H & M Pro)
23:45 The Strokes  (Primavera)
Same sad song. Nice start with Patti and Ben Watt, then a sort of a wasteland (although we'll manage) and more clashes. DIIV will be the chosen band and then, whatever happens...

Sunday, May 31th, Apolo/Sala BARTS
19:40 Soledad Vélez (BARTS)
20:45 Torres (BARTS)
A very relaxed day with just one gig that we really want to attend, but what a gig. We love Torres... Sure (and also hope) there will be more changes and adds to this schedule as the Festival approaches. We'll see!

* Incomplete, or depending on the distances between stages

Indietracks Festival 2014: Timetables

Indietracks 2014 timetables' were unveiled some days ago, so as we do with Primavera Sound, we wanted to post our "route" within the Festival. But completing our schedule (Saturday in particular) has been an incredibly tough task. Still have to figure out about distances between stages, but as a first attempt, this is what our Indietracks 2014 looks like:

Friday, July 25th, Outdoor Stage
17:50 Teen Canteen
18.50 Spearmint
19:50 The Chills
21:15 Allo Darlin'
No problems and zero doubts here, just four bands to enjoy...

Saturday, July 26th
14:40-15:20 The Royal Landscaping Society (Outdoor Stage)
15:40-16:20 Thee AHs (Outdoor)
16:40-17.20 Linda Guilala (Outdoor)
18:40-19:20 The Spook School (Outdoor)
19:20-20:00 Nat Johnson (Church Stage)
20:00-21:00 Dean Wareham (Indoor Stage)
21:15-22:15 Gruff Rhys (Outdoor)
Huge drama, even bigger than the ones we recurrently have at Primavera Sound. Nat Johnson clashing with The Popguns and Joanna Gruesome? Dean Wareham clashing The Popguns and The Proper Ornaments? Manhattan Love Suicides clashing with The Spook School? Needless to say, this day will see changes for sure...

Sunday, July 27th
13:00-13:40 The Swapsies (Indoor Stage)
14:20-15:00 Watoo Watoo (Church Stage)
15:00-15:40 The Wendy Darling (Indoor)
16:00-16:40 The Hobbes Fanclub (Indoor)
16:40-17:20 The Very Most (Outdoor Stage)
17:20-18:00 The Yearning (Church
18:00-18:40 Night Flowers (Indoor)
19:00-19:40 The Just Joans (Indoor)
20:00-21:00 Withered Hand (Indoor)
21:15-22:15 The Hidden Cameras (Outdoor)
Aiming to see ten bands, including our dear Swapsies, Watoo Watoo and of course, The Very Most... and you know what? We are still forced to miss some bands we would love to see Cosines & The Flatmates. What an impressive line-up this is, Indietracks.

Sure it won't be the final schedule!

Primavera Sound 2013: my draft schedule

3rd attempt. Not even two weeks before Primavera Sound 2013 begins, and now we have (virtually) all the information needed to try to design our schedule for the Festival. Here it is!

Wednesday, May 22nd, Parc del Fòrum/Apolo
18:00 Aliment (Ray-Ban stage)
19:00 The Bots (Ray-Ban)
20:00 Guards (Ray-Ban)
21.00 The Vaccines (Ray-Ban)
22.10 Evans the Death (Salón Smint Myspace)
00.00 Cheatahs (La [2] de Apolo)
01.00 Veronica Falls (La [2] de Apolo)

Thursday, May 23rd, Parc del Fòrum

18:25 Wild Nothing (Heineken stage)
19:30 Savages (Pitchfork)
20:30 Tame Impala (Heineken)
21:45 Dinosaur Jr. (Primavera)
22:55 The Postal Service (Heineken)
00:15 Grizzly Bear (Primavera)
01:40 Phoenix (Heineken)
Possible changes of Evans the Death at 20.45 at Adidas Originals stage instead of Tame Impala and Menomena at 00.30 at Vice stage instead Grizzly Bear.

Friday, May 24th, Parc del Fòrum

16:00 Ethan Johns (Auditori Rockdelux)
18:10 Kurt Vile & The Violators (Heineken)
19:30 Daniel Johnston (Auditori)
21:30 The Breeders performing Last Splash (Primavera)
22:45 Local Natives (Pitchfork)
23:50 Daughter (Vice)
01:30 Blur (Heineken)
03.15 Titus Andronicus (Primavera)
The organizations has made some changes on the schedule... that didn't help one bit. The Auditori will be so full with Daniel Johnston that maybe watching Peace at the same time at the Primavera stage might be a good option. Plus several empty hours with no clear option to attend...

Saturday, May 25th, Parc del Fòrum

18:35 Adam Green & Binki Shapiro (Heineken stage)
19:45 Rodríguez (Primavera stage)
20:55 Band of Horses (Heineken)
23.30 Camera Obscura (Ray-Ban)
01:05 Los Planetas (Primavera)
No changes on this day, very unfortunate with the schedule. Missing Bored Spies, The Babies, Sr. Chinarro, Grushenka... and to make it worse, there are several moments when nothing really interests me, in particular in between Band of Horses and Camera Obscura. We'll see...

Sunday, May 26th, Apolo/Sala BARTS

19:30 The Orchids (Sala BARTS)
20:30 Julie Doiron (BARTS)
21:30 Sr.Chinarro (BARTS)
22.30 Come (BARTS)
Easy and, on paper, comfortable last day. Still missing for the Primavera als Parcs schedule, where there are a couple of bands I would like to see. Even despite some disappointments and several decissions to be made, it's a busy & exciting schedule, don't you think?

Primavera Sound 2013: Timetables, 1st attempt

Here it is, the timetables for the Primavera Sound 2013 are arriving... slowly, one per day. Something a bit questionable, if you ask me, that way of showing them, but well, that's the organization choice after all. Still pending on several things, but for the first attempt, this is what my PS 2013 looks like:

Wednesday, May 22nd, Parc del Fòrum
18:00 Aliment (Ray-Ban stage)
19:00 The Bots (Ray-Ban)
20:00 Guards (Ray-Ban)
21.00 The Vaccines (Ray-Ban)
Pending on the Salón Myspace Mint timetables on Wednesday, because Evans the Death will be a must. And also wishing to know what time will the shows at Apolo begin, hoping to arrive to see Veronica Falls.

Thursday, May 23rd, Parc del Fòrum
18:30 Wild Nothing (Heineken stage)
19:30 Savages (Pitchfork)
20:40 Tame Impala (Heineken)
21:50 Dinosaur Jr. (Primavera)
23:00 The Postal Service (Heineken)
00:10 Grizzly Bear (Primavera)
01:40 Phoenix (Heineken)
On paper, a terrible terrible day, not because of the bands, of course, but for the bad luck regarding mobility between stages. Going back and forth to Heineken-Primavera stages is a nightmare, the worst option. So I'm more than convinced that some bands will be sacrificed just to reduce the numbers of "processions/pilgrimages"...

Friday, May 24th, Parc del Fòrum
16:00 Ethan Johns (Auditori)
17:40 Pony Bravo (Primavera)
19:10 Peace (Primavera)
21:00 Daniel Johnston (Auditori)
22:45 Local Natives (Pitchfork)
23:50 Daughter (Vice)
01:30 Blur (Heineken)
A thousand doubts. Unclear in the early afternoon, undecided by 20:00, things get better at night. Clash between Johnston and The Breeders. Local Natives or Jesus and Mary Chain? And Titus Andronicus after Blur?

What will be the schedule for Saturday and Sunday? More tomorrow or when the organization decides, who knows!
