The Bloodbuzzed Jukebox Week 281
Last weekend of February and there's a feeling things are starting to get going. Frustrantingly slowly, maybe. But there's a different vibe. For example, take a look (or more important, a listen) to our latest TOP TEN JUKEBOX, an exciting and diverse combination of newcomers and consecrated names. We have in-your-face rock, mellow sounds, elegant ballads, scathing social and political commentary... a little for everyone, so plenty to enjoy. Check it out, and remember to join us at our Soundcloud page!

Premiere: 'Mirrorball', with The Catenary Wires at an 80s disco
It's a real honor. And a very special occasion. This humble Blog is among the few ones selected to unveil today the flamboyant new single from The Catenary Wires, one of the latest music endeavours (not forgetting the promising Swansea Sound) from indiepop legends Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey (Marine Research, Talulah Gosh, Heavenly, Tender Trap, can't believe I'm writing this, beat that!!). It's called Mirrorball, and is a wonderful slice of charming, classy and wise indiepop. 3.40 minutes of pure joy & romance under the crystal ball of an 80s disco. Take a listen below!
Rob & Amelia started The Catenary Wires as a duo in 2014, but is now a full band with the contributions on keyboards from Fay Hallam, Ian Button on drums, and Andy Lewis on bass. Mirrorball is the a-side of forthcoming 7", backed with Wish You Were Here in the physical release (a digital version will be also available) to be released on April 16th on our beloved Shelflife Records (US), and their own label Skep Wax (UK & rest of the world). The single anticipates the arrival of their third album Birling Gap, scheduled for May. Expectations couldn't be higher for Spring!
Thanks Amelia, Rob and the rest of the 'Wires'. And thanks a million, Mike.

The Bloodbuzzed Jukebox Week 280
A lot we could talk about this week. The groundhog day of our elections. The debate on freedom of expression. Violence in the streets. The role of social networks and new media on this angst. To summarise: The world's on fire (and we still fall in love) / The world's on fire (and we're not giving up, no). So, thanks Parker Woodland, thanks Crowded House (such an honor to feature you here) and the rest of our latest TOP TEN JUKEBOX, For giving us words, hope, distractions and hymns to get going. Take a break and enjoy the tunes... And remember to join us at our Soundcloud page!

But we refuse to be let down. February seems to have a different vibe, right? As an example, take a listen to our latest TOP TEN JUKEBOX, full of exciting new tunes from exciting new names, alongside stunning returns from most beloved acts, led by the infallible The Chills. Be safe and smart out there, enjoy the music and remember to join us at our Soundcloud page!
